Petaling Jaya, 2 December 2024 – ZakatMalaysia.com continues to strengthen its collaboration with zakat-paying companies through a courtesy visit to Powernet Petroleum Sdn Bhd. This visit aimed to reinforce ties with zakat contributors and to introduce Maahad Tahfiz Al-Fateh as a registered zakat assistant (penolong amil) under the Selangor Zakat Board (Lembaga Zakat Selangor).
The ZakatMalaysia.com delegation was led by Tuan Ts. Azril Hanafi, Manager of the Fund and Zakat Department, and was warmly received by the Chief Executive Officer of Powernet Petroleum Sdn Bhd, Puan Nor Khaila Binti Khalid. During the meeting, both parties discussed the role of zakat in empowering the ummah’s economy and how strategic collaboration can enhance the effectiveness of zakat distribution to those in need.
As a company committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, Powernet Petroleum Sdn Bhd expressed its willingness to continue channeling business zakat through a more systematic and transparent platform. Puan Nor Khaila emphasized that the company greatly appreciates the initiative by ZakatMalaysia.com in providing online zakat payment facilities as well as an interactive platform that facilitates communication between zakat payers and zakat institutions.
In addition, the visit also provided an opportunity to introduce Maahad Tahfiz Al-Fateh as one of the institutions recognized as an assistant zakat collector (penolong amil) under the Selangor Zakat Board. The role of Maahad Tahfiz Al-Fateh in assisting with local zakat collection was also discussed, further strengthening a more organized and effective zakat ecosystem.
According to Tuan Ts. Azril Hanafi, ZakatMalaysia.com continuously strives to expand its network of collaborations with corporate companies to ensure that the zakat payment system can be implemented more efficiently and have a significant impact on beneficiaries. “We believe that the synergy between zakat institutions and corporate entities can further enhance the effectiveness of zakat collection and distribution to those in need,” he said.
